If you have a dream, do you believe that you can shift your chances of achieving it based on your thoughts, words, and actions?

I see 3 types of behaviors in people:

  1. People who only seem to think about the negative and all they talk about is problems and what they don’t have,
  2. People who just deal with life as it comes, and they think and talk about whatever they are reacting to at the moment. So if something good happened, they are happy and they talk about it until something bad happens. Then they’re upset and that’s what they talk about until the situation changes again, and
  3. People who think about their goals and dreams, and they talk about how they will get there. They talk about the steps they’re taking, what they’re learning along the way. When problems come, they think about how they are dealing with it and how they can learn from it as they press on their journey.

I’m sure there are other characteristics that define some of our behaviors but out of these, which are you most like? We all probably have some combination of these traits but we most likely lead with one more than the other.

When we’re trying to achieve our goals, do we hinder our own progress because of how we think and speak? Can our words influence our circumstances? The Bible says as a man thinks, that’s what he becomes (paraphrasing), and it also says your tongue holds the power of life and death. Can we talk so much about our goals and dreams that we actually open doors to our destiny? If we think about our dreams and work hard to educate ourselves about how to succeed, will we flourish more than if we were thinking about what we don’t have and how bad our lives are?

Share your thoughts now at the bottom of this webpage in the comments section, I’d love to read them.

I'm a married man of 18 years. We have three kids, 2 girls and a boy, and I'm a 17-year active duty military service member. I've always been a critical thinker and a close listener to what people are saying. I love to read and watch videos for personal and professional development. There's a ton of information out there and it doesn't always synchronize, so I enjoy the conversations that can develop from it. This is why I decided to share my thoughts and open the conversations to the world online. We can all become better through these discussions because there's always a different perspective.
