We all have feelings right? We all have opinions right? We all go through different things in life, and we wish to express our feelings, emotions, and our opinions about what’s happening. When we chose to express these, whether we were saying them out loud to ourselves while driving home from a long day of work, or while talking to a friend, venting, some might consider your words to be “affirmations”. These affirmations could have the potential to be the steering wheel of your journey.
Some people believe that if they wake up every morning and they speak affirmations over their own lives, that the very words they are speaking will become engrained into their thinking and the words, emotions, and energy will stay in the atmosphere until they create the environment they were meant to create. This reminds me of a scripture in the Bible that says God‘s word will do exactly what it was sent to do and will not be returned to him void. In other words if our affirmations had a similar affect, then we could speak the things that we desire in our lives and the words will be sent on a mission and will not come back without accomplishing the mission first. This would be and intentional way of speaking affirmations and expecting to see results, not only in our thinking and our beliefs but to also change our circumstances. Now, what about if we speak negative things during our conversations with our friends while we are venting, or during our self-talk on the way home from the stressful day?
If we speak negatively about our lives, our circumstances, will we be creating the environment for more negative results to come our way? If affirmations work, does it work only when you do it on purpose? Or, is it already occurring on a daily basis whether you know it or not? Has it worked for you? Can it work for everybody? What do you believe about affirmations?
